LEED —Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-– is a rating system for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.
The Brummitt team evaluates the project early in design, predicts a range of possible LEED points, and outlines cost-effective recommendations to achieve these points. Their specialized experience has helped teams setting informed, assertive, and realistic goals, while ensuring that their LEED goals will be met.
- Energy and Atmosphere
A substantial portion of the points available for LEED certification is directly related to the energy performance of the project. Brummitt’s has extensive experience in modeling, documenting and submitting these credits, using eitherASHRAE 90.1 or CA Title 24.
- Daylighting and Views
Brummitt’s 3D Daylight simulation models provide input for window sizing, glazing, overhang & side-fin sizing and skylight and/or Solatube layout. This ensures that Daylighting is optimized early in design and the LEED Daylighting and Views points will be achieved without costly redesign.
Brummitt’s LEED Track Record
Brummitt has assisted many projects that have achieved or are actively pursuing LEED Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Certified. As of August 2012, the team’s LEED track record speaks for itself:
- Over 150 projects achieved LEED Certification
- 99.9% of the points that our team was for responsible have been awarded
CHPS —Collaborative for High Performance Schools--is a national movement to improve student performance and the educational experience by building the best possible schools.
Brummitt has assisted many schools to achieve CHPS certification. By collaborating with the team early in design and setting realistic CHPS goals, our team helps to ensure their goals are achieved.
The team’s experience includes energy modeling and CHPS Energy documentation, using either ASHRAE 90.1 or CA Title 24 and Daylighting and View Window calculations and documentation.
