Brummitt has assisted numerous building owners and design teams to maximize the incentives from various energy efficiency programs such as Savings by Design and the California Advanced Homes Program for new construction and On-Bill Financing for existing buildings.
Savings By Design Program (SBD)
California’s Savings By Design program (SBD) offers assistance to help offset costs associated with energy efficiency measures. SBD encourages energy-efficient building design and construction practices, promoting the efficient use of energy by offering up-front design assistance supported by financial incentives based on project performance. Incentives for building owners and design teams are based upon the project’s estimated annual energy and demand savings (kW, kWh and therms).
Brummitt’s extensive experience with the SBD program results in maximizing your project’s incentives. Doubling a project’s efficiency accelerates the incentives fourfold.
California Advanced Homes Program (CAHP)
The CAHP highlights best practices in energy efficiency, green building and sustainability, and offers financial incentives to help owners and design teams create environmentally friendly, energy-efficient communities for potential home buyers. This program works with the team to exceed compliance with the CA Title 24, for residential and nonresidential buildings through the performance-based energy modeling method. Documentation must be created and signed by a Certified Energy Plans Examiner (CEPE).
Brummitt’s experienced CEPEs provide cost effective recommendations and maximize incentives for building owners and design teams.
Existing buildings that participate in utility retrofit efficiency programs may also be eligible to pay for the up-front capital costs via on-utility-bill financing.
